Mental health minister battling psychiatrists in pay dispute told to quit after $750 Aus Day chauffeur trip

The NSW Minister for Mental Health, already under fire over the mass resignation of psychiatrists from the state’s collapsing mental health system, is facing fresh criticism for using a taxpayer-funded ministerial driver for a personal trip during the Australia Day weekend.
Rose Jackson and her friend, NSW Minister for Transport Jo Haylen, travelled to the Hunter Valley’s Brokenwood Wines in NSW for a three-hour lunch using Ms Haylen’s ministerial driver.
The result was a 446km round trip that lasted 13 hours and cost taxpayers approximately $750.
“I made the wrong decision,” Ms Haylen said on Sunday when apologising and confirming she would repay the money herself.
