Millionaire GP who owns 14 hotels and a brewery administered fentanyl sedation in breach of AHPRA conditions: tribunal
Dr Jerry Schwartz says he will appeal after being found guilty of breaching conditions on his registration by administering up to 100μg of fentanyl as conscious sedation.
The Sydney GP owns a brewery, a charter airline and 14 hotels, including the 35-storey Sofitel hotel on Darling Harbour in Sydney.
Despite Dr Schwartz having an estimated worth of $667 million, he has remained on the medical register, continuing to work as a part-time GP and cosmetic doctor.
According to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, he originally had conditions placed on him back in 2013 following a performance review amid concerns about his clinical judgement and prescribing records.
