Patient names, medicine info and the doctor’s instructions among the data stolen in MediSecure hack

Hackers stole personal data including the health information of nearly 13 million Australians earlier this year, making it one of the nation’s biggest cyber attacks.
E-script provider MediSecure revealed that an unknown amount of its data had been uploaded to the dark web.
The company said it included patient names, their date of births, their gender, addresses, phone numbers along with script information.
This script information also covered the medication, strengths, quantities and repeats as well as the reason for the script and doctor’s instructions.
