Miscarriage linked to diabetes later in life

​​​​​​​A large Danish study shows the risk of type 2 diabetes rises with the the number of pregnancies lost

Women who have had pregnancy losses are more likely to develop diabetes further down the track than those who have not lost a baby, a study shows.  

Danish researchers, reporting in Diabetologia, have found the more pregnancy losses a woman has, the greater her chance of developing type 2 diabetes.  

Led by Dr Pia Egerup, of Copenhagen University Hospital, they used a national database covering 40 years to examine the association.

Compared with ever-pregnant women with no miscarriages, the risk of developing diabetes was:
