‘Moon rock’ cannabis triggers new-onset seizures: case

Doctors in the US have reported an unusual case of psychosis and new-onset seizures triggered by smoking a highly potent form of cannabis.
The 20-year-old patient presented to hospital after acute onset of anxiety, paranoia and “bizarre” behaviour followed by seizure-like activity at home.
He had no significant past medical or psychiatric history, but he disclosed he had been smoking ‘moon rock’ — a highly potent form of cannabis dipped in hash oil and sprinkled with kief crystals, which are collected from cannabis flowers.
This increases the concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) well beyond what is naturally found in the cannabis plant, the doctors wrote.
