More CPAP masks with magnetic clips recalled

The TGA has issued a recall notice for 12 ResMed CPAP masks amid concerns the magnetic clips could interfere with the function or location of pacemakers, shunts and other medical implants.
The regulator said the magnetic interference could lead to serious injury or death and advised doctors to discuss the risk with patients.
“If an alternative mask is not available, the patient is being advised by their mask provider to contact their physician on appropriate next steps regarding their therapy,” it said in the class II recall notice.
“Advise your patients on alternatives on a case-by-case basis.”
