GP practices that missed out on the first phases of the COVID-19 vaccination rollout can begin applying again.

The Federal Government is looking for up to 900 additional practices to begin offering the AstraZeneca vaccine, bringing the total number of primary care vaccination sites to more than 5,000 nationwide.

Unlike the previous intake, applications will also be accepted from practices not accredited for Practice Incentive Payments so long as they currently participate in the National Immunisation Program.

What, if any, additional criteria will be used to assess applications remains unclear and health officials have not said when practices will begin receiving their first doses.
