Most GPs would not recommend the specialty to students or junior doctors: RACGP survey

GPs’ job satisfaction is falling, and fewer than half would recommend general practice as a specialty, according to the RACGP’s latest Health of the Nation report.
Just 39% of GPs and registrars surveyed between April and May this year said they would recommend general practice to medical students and junior doctors.
In 2021 the figure was 58%.
Of the 2380 survey respondents, 68% said they were satisfied with their job compared with 70% in 2022.
