MP calls for sacking of hospital bosses
Last week, Dr Amanda Cohn used parliamentary privilege to launch a blistering attack on two hospital bosses — Bill Appleby and Jonathan Green.
Dr Cohn accused the pair of presiding over a “toxic” and fear-driven culture at Albury Wodonga Health, where Mr Appleby is currently the CEO and Mr Green its chair.
She claimed that their management regime has left many staff members too scared to speak out — particularly over their controversial hospital redevelopment plan, which critics warn is unfit for purpose.
Below is an edited version of the speech made by Dr Cohn, who trained as a rural GP before entering politics as a NSW Greens MP.
