MSF hits back at ‘misinformation’ campaign amid push to get the charity banned under UK terrorism laws
A group called UK Lawyers for Israel wants MSF proscribed as a terrorist organisation.
Médecins Sans Frontières is being accused of knowingly employing staff with “ties to terrorism” after a pro-Israel lobby group called on the UK Government to investigate the charity.
Called UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI), the group says it wants MSF made a proscribed organisation under the UK’s Terrorism Act.
Its allegations, first reported by The Telegraph newspaper, relate to Fadi Jihad Mohammed al-Wadiya, a physiotherapist who this year was revealed as a Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) militant.
He had originally been employed by MSF between 2018 and 2022 and again from 7 October 2023 before being killed in an Israeli air strike in Gaza in June the following year.
