‘My double life as a puzzler’: GP among world’s fastest jigsaw solvers
Dr Hannah Farthing says the pastime is both meditative and super competitive.
Unlike most pandemic hobbies, Dr Hannah Farthing’s obsession with jigsaw puzzles did not end with the COVID-19 lockdowns.
Instead the pastime has taken her into the world of competitive puzzling, where she has represented Australia overseas and topped state competitions.
It has also consumed her dining table, which is covered in sections of a 33,000-piece puzzle. But her hobby’s meditative, mindful qualities have provided a reprieve from the stresses of GP training.
“After I have had a rough day or it has been really busy, it gets me out of work mode,” the GP registrar, from Trafalgar in southern Victoria, tells 6minutes.
