Dr Jasmina Dedic-Hagan's experiences in Bosnia brought her to Ukraine 30 years later.

When Dr Jasmina Dedic-Hagan flew to Ukraine in March, it was not her first time in a war zone.
Teaching combat first-aid was her way of repaying those who helped her as child caught in the horrors of the Bosnian conflict.
“It was the 1990s and life was so good, we couldn’t possibly imagine war coming,” she tells AusDoc.
“When it happened, we were in complete denial.”
