Naturopath on notice over goat’s milk advice for newborns

A naturopath who has recommended newborns be given fresh goat’s milk instead of formula has been barred from practising for another eight weeks, following a Health Care Complaints Commission investigation.
NSW north coast naturopath Barbara O’Neill, who claims the body can heal itself of cancer, has been prohibited from offering health advice or advising parents to give their children goat’s milk while complaints are being investigated by the commission.
The HCCC investigation started late last year after a string of complaints.
In an interim order issued on 11 April, the commission directed Ms O’Neill “must not under any circumstances advise parents to give their newborn babies goat’s milk” for eight weeks.
