NDIS use of paper forms is wasting GPs’ time, says college

The paper-centric National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is wasting GPs’ time by forcing them to manually transcribe information from electronic patient records into hard-copy forms, the RACGP says.
Patients who want NDIS-funded care have to complete an Access Request Form and supporting documentation, but the scheme only accepts paper applications.
The college says the situation forces GPs to transcribe clinical information from electronic patient records, requiring “significant manual processing”.
Additionally, patients are given paper copies of their NDIS plans, so GPs waste further time scanning and uploading them to the patient’s record.
