New app tool to help GP practices find nurses based on their skills, expertise and special interests
Nurses with special skills and interests are now easier to find, says primary care nursing association CEO Dr Stephen Duns.
GP practices can now be matched with the specific skills of individual nurses, following a major revamp of the nursing CPD app, Florence.
The app now includes Find a Nurse, a search tool to allow practices and researchers to search the nursing workforce by expertise, such as chronic disease management, immunisation, women’s health, aged care and care co-ordination.
It then matches them with a list of nurses with the relevant qualifications or special interests.
If they are chosen as a potential candidate, nurses are alerted and can then get in touch if the opportunity appeals. However, their contact details are not shared until they have expressed an interest in the role.
