Nine GPs recognised in Australia Day Honours

GPs have been honoured for their contributions to medicine and society on Australia Day, recognising special contributions to fields such as treating addiction, aged care and doctors’ own mental health.
They include the award of AM given to Professor John Dearin, Dr Jennifer Delima, Dr Trina Gregory and Dr Michael Tedeschi; and OAMs to Dr Bernard Chapman, Dr Elizabeth McNaughton and Dr Joyleen O’Hazy.

Deputy chief medical officer Dr Sonya Bennett also received an AM, while WA Department of Health Director-General Dr David Russell-Weisz received a Public Service Medal (PSM).
