‘No choice’: GPs to pass on cost to patients as payroll tax spectre looms

GPs say they will be forced to pass on the costs of new payroll taxes to patients, with one Queensland doctor flagging he will raise fees by at least 15%.

Practices across NSW, Victoria and Queensland have been dealing with demands to pay the taxes following a series of legal rulings that found that GPs can be classed as employees rather than contractors for tax purposes.
