GPs can help boost cervical screening rates by discussing the test with women when they present for other reasons, and offering self-collection when appropriate, a new survey suggests.

With Medicare data revealing only 54% of eligible women participated in screening in 2018, Pathology Awareness Australia surveyed 675 women to find out why some have delayed or missed HPV testing and what would encourage them to participate in screening.
