Nurse sanctioned for secretly diluting COVID-19 vaccines with saline

A nurse diluted COVID-19 vaccines with saline after tricking a pharmacist into leaving the room during a vaccination appointment, a tribunal has found.
The nurse of 25 years, who also had a midwifery diploma, had been stood down without pay from Griffith Base Hospital in 2021 for not meeting vaccination requirements, according to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
At first, she went to a Chemist Warehouse pharmacy and asked about a same-day vaccination, but was told no appointments were free.
The tribunal said the nurse then made a booking for herself and a younger relative for October, but before leaving, asked to see the vaccination consultation room.
