A nurse has been struck off for soliciting $5000 from a resident with an intellectual disability, as well as stealing money from a housemate, a physiotherapist and a patient who had died.

The registered nurse had helped a resident of an aged care facility withdraw money from a bank branch, then took the cash, according to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

The nurse was reprimanded and banned for professional misconduct over this and a number of other theft-related incidents, including one in which she faked a break-in and stole $3500 from a housemate.

She had been employed briefly at the Benetas Kangaroo Flat aged care facility in Kangaroo Flat, a suburb of Bendigo in regional Victoria, in July 2016.
