Nurse’s 540km walk raises $2 million for paediatric care

After walking 540km along country roads for more than two weeks, a registered nurse and her son made it to Canberra, having secured $2 million for Little Wings paediatric service.
Child and family nurse Sarah Langby and 12-year-old Dusty met the Prime Minister at Parliament House last week after walking from their home in Warren — a country town in western NSW — to Canberra.
They raised over $500,000 for rural paediatric care, and once in Canberra, the Federal Government pitched in an additional $1.5 million.
Dusty first proposed the walk to fundraise for Little Wings, a not-for-profit that supports regional communities across NSW, Queensland and the ACT to access paediatric care.
