Nurses at an aged care facility dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak have been described as “admirable” and “dedicated” for continuing to turn up for work despite being unvaccinated.

Two more aged care residents at SummitCare in Baulkham Hills in Sydney’s north west tested positive to the virus on Monday, bringing the total number of infected residents to five.

On the weekend, chief operating officer, Michelle Sloane, confirmed that only one third of staff had been vaccinated against SARS-Cov-2.

And on Monday, she said unvaccinated staff were still working at the facility and it was unknown how many people on site at any one time had received vaccinations.
