An obstetrician is suing six colleagues for $2.6 million in lost earnings after they allegedly excluded him from their on-call roster.

Dr Christopher Price claims he was forced to close his Brisbane practice in January last year and is now doing locum work in the regional city of Gladstone, Queensland.

“If I were to be permanently on call, with no reliable, consistent cover, [my wife and I] could not plan any leave together,” he states in documents filed in the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Closing his practice meant reducing his annual income from around $600,000 to $100,000, he said.
