‘Offer bulk-billing or I’m coming for you’: Senator Jacqui Lambie’s warning to GPs
The Tasmanian senator says GP have no excuse not to bulk-bill now the Medicare 'freeze is now off'
Senator Jacqui Lambie has put GPs on notice: bulk-bill more patients or “I will be coming for you”.
She was responding to a question on ABC Radio National about the $3.5 billion budget funding to triple the value of the current bulk-billing incentives.
“I’m saying this to my GPs in Tasmania — because our population is elderly and by capita we bulk-bill less than anywhere else around the country. You’ve had this money given back to you and the freeze is now off,” the Tasmanian senator said.
“I know that some of you GPs down there — I’ve spoken to a couple of you yesterday — are jumping up and down on the couch. You are relieved this has happened.
