Oncologist now convinced of life after death following 25 years of research

A medical oncologist who has studied over 5000 near-death experiences says his research has convinced him that when the lights go out, there is an afterlife.
Dr Jeffrey Long, an oncologist from Kentucky in the US says he was originally a sceptic, but decades of hearing stories from thousands of patients has “fundamentally changed” his views.
Patients of all religions, cultures and ages have described near-death experiences, he said, with common themes of being transported into another realm, often passing through a tunnel, towards a bright light and a warm, welcoming presence.
“These experiences may sound cliché: the bright light, the tunnel, the loved ones,” Dr Long wrote in a personal essay published on the Insider website.
