One in three female doctors have miscarried: Aus survey

More than a third of Australian female doctors have miscarried, according to a “shocking” new survey that has prompted calls for more family-friendly medical training programs.
Overall, the survey of 1100 female doctors revealed 36% had experienced a miscarriage, 50% had had pregnancy complications and 27% had undergone IVF.
Respondents included around 250 GPs, 140 surgeons, 150 physicians and 100 paediatricians, with the remainder made up by women from other specialties.
Six out of 10 reported delaying having children because of workplace pressures.
