Only one in three over 50s have had fourth COVID-19 dose

A data expert is warning that much work is needed to ensure high uptake in this group ahead of a winter surge in cases

Less than a third of the over 50s have had a fourth COVID-19 dose to date, according to a data expert who is warning that there is “a lot of work” to do boost uptake in this group ahead of an expected winter surge in infections.

Data journalist Juliette O’Brien was commenting in the wake of an ATAGI announcement on Thursday that a second booster dose was now recommended for all those aged 50 and available to anyone over 30 who wanted one.
