‘Our computer says no’: Major hospitals admit they can’t comply with mandatory My Health Record uploads
Most applications relate to smaller organisations, according to the Australian Digital Health Agency.
More than 300 organisations have asked for more time to comply with the now-mandatory requirement to upload pathology and diagnostic imaging reports to My Health Record, including tertiary hospitals.
Most test results must be uploaded to My Health Record within 24 hours, unless a valid exception applies, under the share-by-default requirements introduced in July.
But the Australian Digital Health Agency’s (ADHA) latest list, published yesterday, shows that 350 providers have either received an extension or have an application under consideration.
An ADHA spokesperson has told AusDoc that this equates to around 35% of the organisations that are required to upload pathology reports and 12% for diagnostic imaging.
