‘This outbreak has been a wake-up call’: GPs see big spike in COVID-19 vax bookings

GPs say vaccine bookings are going “through the roof” amid Victoria’s latest COVID-19 outbreak.
The state is now in a seven-day lockdown, with four community-acquired coronavirus cases identified in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 30.
Dr Nathan Pinskier says it has triggered a change in attitudes to vaccination, with nearly 1000 patients registering for an AstraZeneca shot at his Melbourne practice over the coming weekend.
“Until now, the weekly average has been close to 300 at the practice,” he says.
