Paediatrician claims emphatic victory in RACP election

Dr Julian Kelly won 39% of the vote.

A paediatrician who has touted his independence from the warring factions has won the vote for president-elect of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Dr Julian Kelly, a consultant at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, received 2111 of 5420 votes in a seven-doctor field, based on provisional results released on Tuesday.

He will become president in 2028.
