WA’s hospital system is in crisis with elective surgeries being postponed and patients with broken limbs being told to wait at home for surgery, says the state’s AMA (WA) president Dr Andrew Miller.

At one point on Tuesday, there were only 13 beds available for new patients across the entire Perth metropolitan area, Dr Miller said.
