Paying tribute to the doctors who died on the coronavirus front line
Tributes are flowing around the world honouring the healthcare workers who have died after putting themselves at risk on the front line of the global battle against coronavirus.
More than 1000 have been listed on the medical website Medscape. They include front-line workers from Ghana to Egypt to the US, UK, Italy and beyond.
But the full death toll is likely to be much higher.
The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Parliament that at least 180 NHS staff had died from COVID-19, while in Italy, more than 150 doctors have lost their lives caring for patients.
