Payments for treating ‘frequent flyers’ should have started in August. Where are they?

It has been 17 months since the Federal Government’s patient enrolment scheme opened.
More than 6000 GP practices and around two million patients are now signed up to MyMedicare, according to Minister for Health and Aged Care Mark Butler.
But what has become of its centrepiece, the Frequent Hospital User Incentive — the cash for GPs to care for around 14,000 patients who constantly bounce in and out of hospital.
In the 2023 budget, the government promised $99 million over four years in funding.
