Payroll tax: GP corporates ‘being audited as we speak’
Ochre Health CEO Dermot Roche believes the payroll tax threat will impact every GP practice in Australia.
Several GP corporates are facing payroll tax audits, the CEO of Ochre Health says, although his company has not received an audit notice yet.
Dermot Roche would not name the corporates but said they were “going through an audit process as we speak”.
This showed that the payroll tax threat would impact “every single GP practice in Australia”, he told AusDoc.
“Practices make a margin of less than 5% typically, and payroll tax is more than 5% in most states, so that immediately makes a practice unviable if payroll tax becomes the norm.”
