Payroll tax: State Treasurer asks doctors for figures to back up closure warnings
AMA SA president Dr John Williams has warned of potentially widespread closures when the government amnesty ends.
Almost a third of GP practices in SA will consider closing if payroll tax is enforced after June 2024, according to an AMA SA survey of 40 practices.
The results have prompted SA Treasurer Stephen Mullighan to ask the AMA to collect and present more detailed data illustrating how practice finances will suffer, AMA SA president Dr John Williams says.
