‘People could die’: AMA calls for Aussies to be helped home from India
President Dr Omar Khorshid has written to the Prime Minister demanding fines be revoked for those trying to escape the COVID-19 crisis
The AMA is calling on the Federal Government to “immediately” drop the threat of jail and fines for those attempting to return home from pandemic-stricken India, warning Australians could die because of the escalating COVID-19 situation there.
AMA president Dr Omar Khorshid has also urged the government to bring Australians home from India where COVID-19 cases are at record highs as soon as the flight pause is lifted on 15 May.
