‘Pfizer vax can’t just go in the tearoom freezer’

GPs are ‘burnt out’ over the vaccine rollout program that this week threw up new concerns about how they will store the Pfizer vaccine that they now need to distribute, the AMA says.
Storage of the vaccine became a potential issue for GPs on Monday, when the Federal Government said the COVID-19 vaccine rollout was being “recalibrated”.
This followed recommendations the Pfizer vaccine was the preferred choice for those under 50 because of possible links between the AstraZeneca vaccine and thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome.
An extra 20 million Pfizer doses have been secured for Australia, doubling its original order, according to Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
