Pharmacist sacked after accessing 7000 patient records

A pharmacist has been dismissed and referred to AHPRA over accessing more than 7000 patient records without authorisation at a leading Melbourne trauma centre.
Alfred Health on Thursday confirmed an investigation was launched into the worker’s behaviour in June.
It found the pharmacist had accessed more than 7000 medical records over a four-year period.
The worker had their employment terminated, and the matter was referred to AHPRA.
