Pharmacists will diagnose and treat skin conditions from October: Vic Govt
The Victorian Government will fund pharmacists to diagnose and treat UTIs, “some mild skin conditions” and to renew contraceptive scripts from October this year.
Premier Daniel Andrews had promised a pharmacist prescribing pilot in the final days of last year’s state election campaign, including taxpayer funding to cover the $20 consults.
The state Department of Health now says the pilot will start in October and run for 12 months.
AusDoc asked what treatments pharmacists would prescribe but was not given an answer.Â
