Tassie pharmacists win ‘continued dispensing’ power for S4 drugs
The goal is to 'provide greater capacity for other GP appointments', says the Tasmanian Premier.
Pharmacists in Tasmania can now dispense an extra month’s supply of all S4 medicines except for high-risk drugs like benzodiazepines or quetiapine.
The Tasmanian Government announced last week it would radically extend “continued dispensing” powers for pharmacists, which the Federal Government introduced as an emergency response to the 2019 Black Summer bushfires.
