Pharmacy Guild takes over academic college

World domination by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia took a further step forward this week after it took over pharmacists’ academic college.
The Australian College of Pharmacy is one of three main bodies offering educational activities for the profession’s CPD, including the training that pharmacists must undergo to conduct government-funded medicine management reviews.
But, for the past two years, the 40-year-old organisation has been struggling financially, reporting losses of more than $50,000.
To secure its future, it announced a plan, late last year, to become a proprietary company limited by shares, with all shares owned by the Queensland branch of the Guild.
