A police officer said “nah, bugger it” before fatally tasering a 95-year-old aged care resident with dementia, according to court documents filed by NSW Police.

Senior Constable Kristian White is facing charges of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault after tasering Clare Nowland at her aged care home in southern NSW on 17 May

The fact sheet filed by NSW Police said Ms Nowland initially had two knives on her and was moving slowly from bedroom to bedroom for more than an hour.

Aged care staff called for paramedics, but when they mentioned knives, the off-duty Mr White and a second officer were called too.
