Potential hangover cure just in time for lockdown lift

Ginger can ease nausea and headaches, the study reports, adding that dehydration has less of a role in hangover-hell than previously thought

News that certain plant extracts may ease hangover symptoms will be welcomed around Australia, especially in the aftermath of some lifting of the COVID-19 social restrictions.

Many states and territories have begun the climb back to normality with a loosening of social curbs, such as NSW’s allowing two adults to visit another household from last Friday.

With a possible spike in sore heads following the increased social activity, researchers report they may have found a cure for hangover symptoms.

Their study in the BMJ Nutrition Prevention and Health suggests those who consume plant extracts, including ginger, had milder hangover symptoms.
