‘Predatory marketing’ driving young patients to self-inject illegal peptides, GP warns
Dr Tim Jones said GPs were seeing a worrying increase in patients using non-prescribed peptides they had bought online.
“My young patients always talk about self-esteem,” Dr Tim Jones says.
“But they have started talking about it in terms of body fat percentage, facial contour and structure — things that sound informed by the same content that is pushing peptides online.
“That prompted me to start asking questions.”
The Tasmanian GP says young people are increasingly sourcing illegal peptides online, or are interested in doing so, leading to some distressing cases.
