Prominent mums and bubs GP clinic with $500,000 in debts faces liquidation

A mums and bubs GP practice and charity owes potentially $500,000 to creditors, including the federal Department of Health and Aged Care, administrators say.
The Possums for Mothers and Babies clinic, founded by GP Dr Pamela Douglas 12 years ago, also offered training courses for doctors before it entered voluntary administration in August.
In a statement on her personal website, Dr Douglas said she had resigned from the clinic back in January 2023 because of concerns about its “direction”.
A creditors’ meeting on Tuesday heard that the Brisbane practice had proven debts to the Department of Health of around $279,750 and to the Australian Taxation Office of around $172,000.
