Psychiatrist Dr Jillian Spencer ejected from college conference after banner protest

Dr Jillian Spencer has been ejected from a psychiatrist conference after protesting her college’s suspension of a fellow psychiatrist and transgender medicine critic.

In February, AHPRA used its emergency powers to ban Queenslander Dr Andrew Amos from clinical practice and from making social media posts about gender medicine.

In response, the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) also withdrew his college membership.

Under its constitution, the college automatically withdraws membership from suspended doctors. It also has scope to withdraw membership from doctors under practice conditions.
