‘Psychiatrists are particularly aggressive in the tackle’: Doctors eye World Cup glory

A doctor’s usual role in the World Cup is dealing with the on-field meniscus tears, anterior cruciate injuries, bone fractures and contusions.
But with the nation preparing for an emotional rollercoaster as the FIFA World Cup kicks off on Monday, it’s worth reminding readers that a team of Aussie doctors will be taking to the field themselves to secure glory.
Known as the Docceroos, the team is currently holding its trials for the World Medical Football Championship which takes place in Vienna next year.
The founder of the Docceroos is a GP from Brisbane, Dr Alan Jones.
