‘Put your masks on’: Neurologist who became MP blasts Coalition hecklers
Dr Monique Ryan rebukes Opposition members while asking her first question in Parliament on long COVID

Doctors turned politicians are already having an impact, with the new independent MP Dr Monique Ryan rousing on Coalition hecklers for not wearing masks in Parliament.
Dr Ryan’s rebuke came during her first question to the Minister for Health Mark Butler about the Government’s plans for tackling the long COVID burden.
After several interruptions from the Opposition, the paediatric neurologist, who ousted former treasurer Josh Frydenberg from the formerly safe Liberal seat of Kooyong in Melbourne, retorted sharply “Put your masks on”.
