RACGP asks fellowship candidates to make ‘COVIDSafe’ declaration

Trainees who lie in the forms risk being reported to the Medical Board of Australia for professional misconduct

RACGP fellowship candidates who lie about COVID-19 symptoms before taking their exams risk being reported to the Medical Board of Australia and having their results discarded.

The college is introducing what it is calling a ‘COVIDSafe attestation’, where candidates fill out a form declaring they don’t have COVID-19 symptoms and haven’t been in self-isolation on the day of their test.

Any candidate who has undergone testing as a precaution, and not because they’re unwell, will be allowed to sit the exam if their COVID-19 test results are pending, the college has stressed.

However, it says that any candidate who is unable to complete the attestation will be asked to leave the venue immediately.
