RACGP closes business arm

The RACGP is bringing all of its commercial dealings in-house after closing its business subsidiary, Oxygen.
The college launched Oxygen in 2011, promising to “support GPs in the uptake of e-health clinical tools, products and services”.
Since then, the company’s work has mostly remained a closely guarded secret, even to college members, although it appears to have primarily involved striking deals with health IT businesses.
RACGP president Dr Harry Nespolon said the college had begun the process of taking over Oxygen’s contracts and would aim to improve the transparency around its business dealings.
